Further group addition
Welwyn Harmony is a women’s a cappella chorus.
Welwyn Harmony is a women’s a cappella chorus singing popular songs, including songs from musicals, which have been rearranged for female voices to sing in four-part harmony. They aim to give a new “twist “to well-known songs by stripping them back to their essential musicality using voices alone to create not only the tune but underlying harmonies and rhythms. Some of their songs are in the traditional barbershop style while others use 4-part harmony differently to enhance the original style of the song, but their aim is always to produce beautiful harmonic singing.
Welwyn Harmony are a well-established chorus in WGC, having been established some 40 years ago, and welcome women of all ages to come and sing in our very friendly chorus meeting on Tuesday nights. They run lots of “taster” and “Learn to Sing” events to encourage new singers to try out this style of singing, with details on their website and are also promoted on Facebook and other social media.
