About WGC Celebration

This event is all about bringing our community together to celebrate the wonderful talents, skills, and resources that make life in Welwyn Garden City so enjoyable. Here’s what you can expect:

• Showcasing Local Talent: At the heart of the celebration will be a programme that highlights the diverse musical, dance, and other artistic talents in our town. Expect some spectacular performances!
• Interactive Stalls and Displays: Explore stalls, displays, and exhibitions offering interactive activities, tasters, experiments, and opportunities to try out new things. Whether it’s something you’ve never done before or a hidden talent waiting to be discovered, we’ve got you covered. Join a group, learn a new skill, or just have some fun!
• Community Mural: One of the highlights will be a large mural depicting life in our town, created by the attendees under the guidance of local artists. It’s a unique chance to leave your mark and contribute to a collective artwork.
• Heritage Exhibition: Take a trip down memory lane with a heritage exhibition showcasing the town’s development and evolution.
• Taster Activities: In the week leading up to the 12th, various groups will open their venues for taster sessions, continuing with them into Saturday’s grand extravaganza.
• Business & Charity Involvement: Local businesses, retailers, charities, and services will have a fantastic opportunity to showcase their work, local products, and help everyone to understand and appreciate their contributions to the community.
