The WGC Celebration event is a fantastic chance for the whole community to get together on July 12th 2025. Some activities will take place in the week leading up to this town centre day. This takes a lot of organising, planning, arranging and structuring the programme, and active support right up to the day.
The coordinating group, consists of local people who volunteer their time and energy taking a variety of roles. During the week and on the Saturday in particular. Anyone can come along and give a couple of hours of your time during one of our many events.
We also have lots of fun putting the whole event together, and attending all the activities. Look out for up-to-date announcements on Facebook, Instagram and this website.
Volunteers
This event is about our whole community. It is requiring a lot of work so we can create an occasion that will be enjoyed and remembered. To enable this to happen we need a bigger team of volunteers
Can you give us some of your time to provide the necessary support, and contribute whilst having fun?
We will need volunteers to;
Help pull the programme together, create the infrastructure and make arrangements, as well as liaising with the interesting groups involved URGENTLY NEEDED!
Produce promotional materials and fliers.
Call on retail outlets to discuss ways of being involved eg sponsorship, prizes, promotions.
On-the-day become a marshall to make sure people get the guidance they need, help set-up, welcome visitors with a smiling face, support stallholders, guide performers, keep areas safe and clear refuse.
Clear guidance on roles will be provided.
